The Show

In 1980 Joliet Jake Blues was released from prison after serving a three year prison term for armed robbery. Immediately he and his brother Elwood embarked on a mission to put the old Blues Brothers band back together. Everyone remembers that explosive performance at The Palace Hotel Ballroom where a sellout, congenial crowd was joined by hostile police officers and rival band ‘The Good Ol’ Boys’. Jake and Elwood were sensational, but sadly their days of freedom were numbered. The Justice Department eventually caught up with them, throwing them in jail for a multitude of ‘minor’ misdemeanours.

Today the Joliet Blues Band, featuring the talents of award winning actors Dave Ratty and Iain Barton are on a mission to bring the best loved songs from The Blues Brothers’ repertoire to theatres across the country. Supported by the voices of The Mighty BeeVees and a fabulous 7 piece blues and soul band, they reignite those old favourites that featured in both Blues Brothers’ films and concerts including of course Shake A Tailfeather, Sweet Home Chicago, Everybody Needs Somebody To Love, Gimme Some Lovin, Peter Gunn and Soul Man.

Those that are already fans of this music will love the authenticity, those that have never heard it before will be in for an experience that will blow their mind.

So don your Ray Bans and fedora… and join the mission!
