Paul “The Wizard” Arthurs

Drums and Musical Director

Copyright Neil Harvey

Paul, the band’s Musical Director, played his first gig at 14 on guitar with his Dad’s reformed old band for a one off Charity gig where he got to share the stage with Jim Capaldi (Traffic). He switched to drums as his first instrument at 18 when he realised he was actually a drummer. Paul studied drums and Latin percussion in Havana, Cuba at the Instituto Superior de Arte.

Playing and recording with a myriad of bands over the years, he has also produced recordings for others and has toured with virtuoso World Jazz group Mundo Pequeno, playing clubs and festivals around the UK. He is also drummer and Musical Director for “The Man”, a tribute to Van Morrison and works as a private music tutor, notably as one of the principal tutors of the Beyond Eternity Rock Schools.
