Alexc “The Licks” Cutter

Alto Saxophone

Copyright Neil Harvey

Alecx started playing the saxophone aged 10. He joined the Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra at 13 and during that time went on several tours, which included Germany and even darkest Cornwall. At 19, he started to learn the guitar and piano.

As well as playing sax with the Joliet Blues Band, Alecx runs his own band Carmen, playing guitar and writing the music, is signed with a record label and has released an album which received high critical praise, being reviewed by the likes of Kerrang! magazine. The music has been played on both local radio and also BBC Radio 6 Music. Alecx’s band play regular live shows and produce recordings (checkout iTunes).

He’s just finished writing the score for a short film, being sold for charity, that has so far raised several thousand pounds, and runs Arpeggio Creative, a Mixing, Mastering and Composition company. Alecx is, of course, always working on a session sax project of some kind.
